Because of the littleness of the Little Design, there grows a beautiful spirit of trust We are really all so little at heart. Thank God!.The central, crucial element of what we do at the gathering is the sharing of the heart. We learn to listen with no judgment, no criticism, no impatience, and with reverence. Our hearts can be revealed! This is a sign of the times, we are not just "head" people, but heart also. Thus the modern emphasis on "emotional intelligence." We learn more and more to do the sharing so that it becomes absolutely life- giving!"You have come to the city of the living God! (Hebrews 12:22)

Its littleness.Whatever makes me little:fear, inadequacy,my shortcomings in being able to love, among other things: that is where I can invite the Spirit in,where I can ask, beg for transformation. In this littleness, the Eternal One who makes me whole, can meet me,and invite me to allow my spirit to be expanded again and again and again!

When I started spiritual direction with the Upper Room, Sr. Rosemary told me about the Little Design community. It took me awhile to comprehend just what it was all about. I took the course on the spirituality of Jean-Pierre Medaille and then my eyes were opened and my heart seemed to grow larger. One of the paradoxes of the Little Design is that we remain little in the eyes of the world yet the idea, the spirituality, seemed so large. It is so simple,my mind and my whole being responded with a great Yes to it. My whole life had consisted of doing the very thing that Jean-Pierre taught. My whole inner life consisted of loving God, of being aware of his constant presence in my life,my love of his people. The world was meant for me to pray and be in his kind and loving presence, to draw people to him, to be a loving presence in the world. To let everyone know there is a God and that they were so loved by him. I wanted my works to reflect him. I knew it was always to happen in a way, not seen by the world but there would be a knowing by the people who were touched. I always imagined that there were similar souls who felt the way I did. I imagined them as little lights scattered on the dark surface of the earth. Connected by love. There now, are the beams of light and love,we who will bear the message. I was and continue to be so excited and grateful for the companions who accompany me, who bear the Great Love of God to his people.
